The January 2020 issue of the newsletter is available in the narthex and beside the church office. If you wish to receive the newsletter by email, please contact the church office. Many thanks to Liz for her work as editor.

The annual general meeting (AGM) will take place on Sunday February 23rd at noon. This is a time when we celebrate the ministries and mission opportunities that are made possible through the faithful stewardship of the members of our church. Your presence is valued.

A Sacred Pause

One of the key practices that helps nurture the soul is meditation. With practice and desire, meditation can help us live more fully in the present where God's loving presence can be known and experienced. Every Wednesday in February, Paul will facilitate a guided 20 minute meditation utilizing scripture, the breath, and periods of silence. Afterward, there will be time to debrief and to share conversation over tea. This will take place in the library on Wednesdays at 1:30pm.

Presbyterians Journeying Through Lent Together

Lent Book Study

In Lent 2020, Presbyterians across the country are invited to join a denomination-wide book study on N.T. Wright’s Lent for Everyone, Matthew, Year A. It takes place 6 consecutive Wednesdays at 1:00pm from February 26 – April 1. Books are $20 each. Please contact the church office if you are interesting in participating.

The Ontario Presbyterian Chorus will present the gospel message through the singing of the Psalms, traditional gospel songs, and other music portraying our Christian faith at Leaside Presbyterian Church on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 7:00 pm. A special offering will also be received in support of our church’s special assistance program – providing help and hospitality to people who are socially isolated the third Wednesday each month.

Charitable donations require middle initials on tax receipts. If you donated to Leaside PC in 2019, please email updated information to the church office, including your middle initial.

Join some fellow Leaside members in a Chair Yoga class held in the Glebe Parlour, Fridays from 10-11am. This class is taught by Sue Lynn Chong of Mindful Mobility Yoga. Classes are $15 drop in and the proceeds go directly to Leaside.
