Faith and Films        

Crisis of faith, moral choice, redemption, hope, courage—the tapestry of life will be explored in this series of films.

Other Announcements:

 

Supplies Needed for Cuban Theological Seminary:

Marianne Emig Munro will be participating in a cross-cultural ministry experience at a seminary in Matanzas, Cuba with Knox professors and students from February 16-24, 2012.  Each year, the seminary requests donations of supplies to help with their affiliated mission and outreach.  This year, they have requested the following items: Sweaters (all sizes, child to adult); Laptops (can be used); Medicines: Vitamins and minerals for both children and adults; Tylenol; Ointment for inflammation; Bandages, etc. (no liquid meds, please).

If you are able to donate any of the above, please leave them in the collection box outside the church office until Sunday, February 12.  If you have any questions, please speak to Marianne at Coffee Hour or email her at munros@rogers.com.  Thank you!

 

We are in need of volunteers to serve as ushers for the Sunday worship services.  If you are able to join the roster, please speak to one of the ministers or call the church office.

 

Presbyterians Sharing Teddies ($10 each), Scarves ($10 each), and children’s flannel mitts (small $2/pair and large $3/pair) are available in the Parlour or from Rev. Angela. Proceeds go towards our 2012 Presbyterians Sharing allocation.

 

We are collecting Canadian Tire Money for Evangel Hall.  A collection box can be found under the mailboxes outside the church office.

 

The Quilting Group meets on Tuesday mornings from September to June.  If you are interested in joining in on the quilting fun, please speak to Rita Wright or Marg Barrett.

 

Do you scrapbook? Do you EVER scrapbook about yourself? This is your chance!  You will, with my help be searching the web for photos and info to complete journaling assignments, cropping and journaling your story to create a one of a kind history of YOU! 
Included will be an 8x8 hardcover scrapbook, paper, embellishments, tape runner and journaling pen, plus the use of all of my supplies! The class includes over $80 of Creative Memories products!   Space is limited to 5 people per 6 week session. The cost for the class will be $225 for the six week program and includes all supplies.

If you would like to place flowers in the sanctuary in memory of a loved one, please follow these three simple steps:

  • sign your name on the flower calendar for the appropriate date on the bulletin board outside the office,
  • provide the church office with the information you would like in the bulletin by the Wednesday before and
  • purchase the flowers, and bring them Sunday morning or arrange for delivery before 2 p.m. on the preceding Friday.

Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) Cards are available in the Narthex and outside the church office for PAR participants to use during the offering.  Also, PAR information pamphlets can be found in the Narthex and outside the church office in the hanging container on the wall, for anyone interested in signing up, or, for more information about the program please call the church office.

 

OFFICE NEWS:

Rev. Angela J. Cluney will be away on study leave from February 1 - 6, and February 8 - 11.
