Church School
Children and youth age 3
to 19 years are welcomed to Leaside Presbyterian Church with
open arms and big hearts. There is a gathering time at 10:25
a.m. in the Ben McLean Children’s Chapel. Here the youth,
school age children and preschoolers are greeted with a time
of prayer, song, and an opportunity for sharing what they
have in common with each other, the love of Jesus Christ.
After the gathering time, the children are divided into age
appropriate classes where they will be given the opportunity
to concentrate on stories from the Bible such as: the
Creation Story to the Parables of Jesus. The classes are
divided into four age groups:
- JK to Grade 2
- Grade 3-5
- Youth: Grade 6-8
- Youth: Grade 9 – up
The
children and youth are learning through a variety of
curriculum including Faith Alive’s “Walk With Me” and
“God Loves Me”.
New
children are always welcome to come and join in on the fun
and fellowship. For more information, please contact Angela
J. Cluney, Leaside’s Christian Education Coordinator.
Children at Leaside are encouraged to share their
love for singing with each other. In hopes to encourage
them, Leaside offers a children's choir where they are
given the chance to express their love for God. The
children are invited to come to the Ben McLean
Children's Chapel at 10:05 a.m. Sunday mornings before
Children's Worship for choir fun. Suggestions or
favorite songs are always welcomed. Choir runs from
October to June.
For questions, speak to Angela
J. Cluney, Leaside's Christian Education
Coordinator.
The children at Leaside Presbyterian Church are
sponsoring an ongoing stewardship project. They are
collecting money for support of Seid Biruk Berchaga,
their adopted friend from Ethiopia, through Christian
Children's Fund of Canada. There is a bulletin board
dedicated to information on Seid found in the hallway
outside of the sanctuary.
